Touching Lives: Yany

(Originally December 16, 2018)

Who is Yany?

Yany is a young woman who lives in the city of Esperanza. Her story is a bit different from the others, because it is a bit…unconventional how I met her.

How has the ministry impacted her life?

One day, I was with Pastora Ana and we went to a special place of prayer with another pastor friend of ours, Pastor Pablo. As we were praying, the presence of the Holy Spirit was very strong in that place. The next thing I knew, Pastor Pablo was pressing a cell phone into my hand. “You must pray for this young woman.”

I wasn’t quite sure what to do. What do you say to a woman that you’ve never met - over the phone, no less? I didn’t know her name, I didn’t know anything about her life, and I couldn’t see any facial expressions to “read” her as I spoke.

“Give me the words she needs, Lord.”

I took the phone and began to pray with her. As I prayed, she began to weep. I blessed her in the name of Jesus and was full of gratitude for how He ministered to her in spite of my limitations.

-That was in March 2018 -

In October 2018, Ana and I got a call asking us to go to Pastor Pablo’s church to preach and minister to his congregation. The service was powerful. Near the end, the pastor stands and begins to give testimony. As he was speaking, I wasn’t able to pay 100% attention because I was ministering to individuals but I would soon learn what he was telling.

A young woman came up to me after the service and said, “Megan, my name is Yany. You have ministered to me in a mighty way. One day, I was in an awful situation, and Pastor Pablo called my cell phone and put you on to pray for me. It was God’s very mouth speaking to me through your lips.”

I began to cry. I never imagined that I would meet that woman in person and here she was telling me that she was saved as a result of that phone prayer! Glory to God!

Pray for Yany:

1.) That she and her husband grow in her faith.

2.) Pray for wisdom as they are stepping up to lead other couples in the church.

3.) Praise the Lord for the salvation of this young woman and thank Him for using her to cause my faith to rise.
