When you catch a glimpse of how temporal this life is and how tiny of a speck our life really is in the grand scheme of things, it’s humbling. It’s also a realization that should make you and I jump up off the couch and put some action to what we believe in. How can we make an impact that goes beyond the little vapor of a life that we are gifted with in this incredible, intricate plan of Almighty God?
A vapor of a life. That’s really all you and I have when we think about how many days we have in comparison to all eternity past and all eternity future. It’s actually scriptural, too. Check it out - James 4:14. “You do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.”
Or maybe you would recognize one of the many passages that compare us to the grass of the field or the flowers that wilt and fade away. Living for a season and then dying in the place where we were planted.
For me - it looks like moving to another country and sharing the Hope of Jesus in Spanish with the people of the Dominican Republic. For you, it’ll probably look different. Maybe you are supposed to leave your mark for the glory of our Lord in your home, in your community, in your workplace, or in the neighboring county, city, or state. Perhaps you are going to someplace across the sea or maybe you are financially and prayerfully supporting a work in another country. Wonderful. Be intentional. Be a wise steward of your time and resources. We must work together to cover this land with the message of Jesus that is salvation, hope, and life.
To update all of you on where I am - I am currently 80% monthly supported - praise our God who is Provider! I still lack about $370 per month before I buy my plane ticket. I need your help. Maybe the Lord is impressing on you that He is calling you to be intentional about sharing the Good News with the people in the Dominican Republic through being a financial part of my ministry support team. Perhaps you are not in a position where that is possible but you know someone who might be interested in doing that. Please connect them with me! This isn’t a “Megan mission.” This is a work of the Lord and He is calling more than just me to step up and join Him in great things that He is already doing in the Dominican Republic! Will you pray and seek the Lord’s face about being part of this work?
