Mississippi Soil on the Soles of My Shoes

(Originally posted October 13, 2018)

(Wooooooow, I just realized that this never posted. I wrote it wayyyyy back in April when I was in the US on my last furlough trip and it has been sitting here hiding in my drafts folder. Reading back through this post that never posted, ha, it's way too good not to post even though it's months late. So - here it is! It doesn't cover the entire trip that I made, but it includes some great moments!)  --------  I have Mississippi soil on the soles of my shoes and marks of blessings all over my heart and mind from the recent days I've been in the States. Let me throw out some pictures and a few details about some of the whirlwind of a trip I have been on the past few weeks! (It's hard to believe I'll be flying back to the DR on Monday!)

I flew from the DR to Mississippi on March 29th, 2018 (One day after my year anniversary of my life and work in the DR!)

It was so good to be able to see my family for the first time in a year! (My dad is not pictured. He won't let me get any good ones.)

It was also such a blessing to be able to worship and to give testimony with my Pursuit Church of Meridian family! How I have missed them! The Presence of the Holy Spirit ministered to all of us in a very sweet way that morning!

This sweet girl in the picture below is growing up so quickly! Her name is Ellie -- she reminds me so much of me when I was her age. Her heart for the Lord and for His Word is beautiful and I believe He is going to use her in powerful ways as she continues to seek Him! She was so surprised to see me that she ran and threw herself in my arms and cried. It was the most precious "I have missed you" moment.

I have had the precious opportunity to share with two other churches to this point in my trip, Briarwood Baptist Church and Gateway Church in Lauderdale. (The picture below is one that my pastor snapped of me at Gateway Church - I don't have a picture from my time at Briarwood, sadly!) Both times were sweet blessings from the Lord and I left each one feeling more encouraged and blessed than I could have possibly blessed or encouraged the people in those congregations! It's amazing how the Lord works!

The pictures below are of a two-day opportunity with the precious students of Starkville Christian School. I have had the privilege to meet and to spend some time pouring into students who are running hard after Christ and they have blessed me so with their open and seeking hearts and precious prayers for me and for my ministry. God be glorified in all of us as we live in reckless obedience. We will see your glory. (click on the images to see them better.)
